So, Matt begins the new semester in two weeks and still hasn't gotten his textbook. He had tried ordering it online from the BYU-I bookstore but keeps getting notified that it is not available for online purchase.
SO....given that information, we decided to drive up to Rexburg to get it from the bookstore in person. Unfortunately, once we actually locate the dismal looking empty bookshelf, we realize that it is not only unavailable for online purchase. It is just plain not available. They don't have any in stock and don't know when they will get any in stock. Bollux! In addition, we asked if they would allow us to backorder it so it would be shipped to us when it does arrive and they said no. Double Bollux! And, they want to charge us $10 in shipping when they do finally get it in, despite the fact that we spent $70 in gas to come up to get the stupid book. Not too terribly impressed with the BYU-I bookstore customer service. They couldn't give us any definite answers which I found to be ridiculous. Anyone running a business would need to know where their merchandise was and when it would be arriving. Otherwise, they'd be out of business.
The final straw...they couldn't even guarantee that THEY would receive the book before the semester begins in two weeks, let alone that Matt would have it by then. What kind of place is this? Who could be so irresponsible as to let things lapse that badly and not know a thing about their merchandise. The only advice we got...check to see if you can order it on the internet. Well, we already did that and this is where it got us, thank you very much.
No we're appealing to his professor to see if he will give us the ISBN, because the bookstore couldn't, so we can try to locate it somewhere a little closer to home...maybe BYU Provo would have it. Or Amazon. Who knows? Well, we know we won't be getting it from Idaho.
Now we have to prepare for the drive back home. At least I was able to go to the Student Health Center for my follow-up appointment and got a prescription for metformin for my IR. That's the only good thing about this trip...the gas $ cost us less than going to a Dr. in SLC....pretty sad, huh? I love how the school is screwing with us.

What a day! Did you look for a place to live while you were in Rexburg?
