We bought a house...
last March...
in Phoenix.
A half-acre dirt lot with a 2 bedroom cinder block house built in 1978...with asbestos.
But we didn't buy it for the house...
We bought it for the land because...
Matt thinks he's a farmer.
We promptly bought 20 baby chicks and converted the shed into a coop with a run. Since that time, 2 of the chicks started to crow and had to be sold (can't have roosters). And another was sold to a hungry day-laborer looking for work (don't ask).
We bought a swimming pool, built raised garden beds, erected a temporary green house, took down the temporary green house, planted trees, cut down trees, planted berries & vines, and watched as the chickens devoured everything in reach.
Our 1 year anniversary in this house is coming upon us. The house itself remains pretty much untouched. I have plans, of course...lots of plans.
